Repeat Prescription Request
Prescriptions are typically issued during an in person consultation and a plan is put in place for repeat prescription requests. If it has been more than 6 months since you have consulted your doctor or you are taking medications that require blood-test monitoring and/or a blood pressure check, we may advise you by text or email that a consultation is necessary before your repeat prescription can be issued safely.
Please allow 72 hours for the prescription to be sent to your pharmacy.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
-
Written form only- reduces risk of error
-
Online or if preferred, dropping list in Prescription Order Box at surgery or posting in.
-
If a medication not on your Repeat Prescription list is requested, the Dr. may need to see you about it.
-
Hospital Prescriptions with Medical Card: the Pharmacy can give out a supply from the Hospital Prescription, if you present it same day. A copy of the prescription then needs to be given in here so that we can transfer it to the Medical Card prescription
-
Are you aware of the Medication Sick Day Guidance? This can be discussed at your appointments here, or with Pharmacy or in Outpatient Clinic/ Hospital visits.
If you are on a number of medications, please contact us for advice concerning if you become sick, even if you don’t feel you need to actually see the doctor.
